Lasting Powers of Attorney

Services / Lasting Powers of Attorney

Concerned about what might happen should you lose the ability to make your own financial or healthcare decisions? Relieve the burden by making binding provision in a lasting power of attorney.

With us all living longer it is natural to worry about what would happen should you lose the ability to make some, or all, decisions for yourself. Whether arrangements for your physical care or your finances, a lasting power of attorney (LPA) can ‘kick in’ if this does happen to you so you can be sure that expensive court proceedings to appoint someone to do these things can be avoided. At a cost of only £100 plus VAT each and disbursements (payments to a third party such as a registration fee) they do not cost the earth and provide the reassurance you need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can't my partner sort things out anyway?

No, without an LPA your spouse does not have the authority to deal with your bank accounts, pensions or make decisions about your physical care.

Do I have to pay the registration fee?

Not necessarily, as many people on benefits or low incomes will be exempt. John Robinson Solicitor will always check to make sure you pay no more than is necessary.
